BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Kimberly Schmidt lives in West Linn with her husband and two sons. Born and raised in Portland, Dr. Schmidt attended Sunset High School then graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor’s in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Dr. Schmidt was an active member in the Greek System and met her husband at Oregon State. GO BEAVS!

Dr. Schmidt is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University, College of Optometry in South Florida. During her time in Florida she learned medical Spanish, how to cook Cuban food and just how special Oregon is. She moved back to Oregon after obtaining an additional bachelor’s degree in vision science and her doctorate of optometry. Dr. Schmidt is very excited to practice in Lake Oswego. Making personal connections and treating whole families in a close knit community has been her life long career goal. Dr. Schmidt is excited to continue the same level of exceptional care that Dr. Stahl has over the last 44 years. With an emphasis in surgical co-management and specialty contact lens fits, Dr. Schmidt practice full scope optometry to meet the needs of all her patients.

With 13 years of competitive ski racing and 3 torn ACL’s under her belt, Dr. Schmidt loves to ski with her family in the winters and relax on the river in the summers. Dr. Schmidt loves teaching kids of all ages about vision, optics and the eyes. She looks forward to many happy and healthy years as an active member of the Lake Oswego community.

Kimberly Schmidt, OD took over the practice of J. Doug Stahl, OD. Dr. Stahl practiced in Lake Oswego for 44 years before retiring in 2015. Drs. Stahl and Schmidt hit it off immediately. They share the common goal of enjoying optometry each day with each patient. Dr. Schmidt practices what she calls “old fashioned medicine.” Believing in quality over quantity, Dr. Schmidt takes pride in patient education and open lines of communication. From the exam room to the optical, Schmidt EyeCare believes in ensuring that our patients have the best care and best quality products possible.
